Babies Are A Gift
We Love Babies
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him” Psalm 127:3
Most people can remember back to the arrival of a new baby. Was it yesterday, last year, or years ago? Regardless of when, we can all remember. Can you remember the baby’s soft skin, their fingers wrapped around your finger, their eyes staring back into yours? Do you remember the scent of that young fresh child?
Babies are precious and innocent. We protect and nurture them.
Babies Can't Care For Themselves
We Care For Them
Now, imagine if there are babies that do not have a clean diaper every time one was needed, or do not have a clean wipe to clean up after all of those unfortunate messes, or may not have something to keep them from getting a painful rash.
Babies can’t care for themselves. We care for them.
Sometimes though, even we need a little help.
Feed Your Family or Get Diapers For Your Child
Could you choose? Every day, thousands of parents across the Hoosier state and here in Vigo County must ask themselves this question.
Covered With Love does not believe parents should have to make these choices and we are here to help.
Diaper need is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep an infant or toddler clean, dry, and healthy.
Covered With Love is standing in the gap of child poverty by providing diapers, disposable training pants, wipes, and baby hygiene products to families in need or crisis.
Did You Know?
Help break the cycle
Diaper need impacts the physical, mental, and economic well-being of children and parents.
Let’s look at the cycle of diaper need and how it impacts the entire family.
When a child does not have an adequate supply of clean, fresh diapers what happens? The child is likely in soiled diapers longer than appropriate, which frequently leads to diaper rash, and may cause staph infections or urinary tract infections.
Most child care facilities, even free and subsidized facilities, require parents to provide a day’s supply of disposable diapers. A child can use between 8-12 diapers in a day. If a parent cannot provide that day’s supply, the child care facility may not keep the child.
When a child care facility will not keep the child, the parent must take time away from work or from school. Time away from work results in a lower paycheck which impacts how many diapers can be purchased.
If the cycle is not broken or a family does not get assistance, the situation continues, the cycle continues, and unfortunately the cycle never stops.
Help Break The Cycle.
